Swiss Luxury Watches: Only Roger Dubuis is 100% Poincon De Geneve Certified

When considering Swiss luxury watches, only one brand bears the stamp of Geneva.

Swiss luxury watches include many brands and companies, but only one brand contains the exclusive Poincon De Geneve certification on its entire manufacture: the Roger Dubuis company.

Roger Dubuis' commitment to design, quality, and craftsmanship have earned it the highest ranking given to Swiss luxury watches. With its 100% Poincon De Geneve certification, the Roger Dubuis company has achieved a level of excellence that no other Swiss watch manufacturer can claim. It is, simply, the best, and is the top choice for people interested in fine watchmaking.

The Story of Swiss Luxury Watches

When one thinks of Haute Horlogerie, or fine watchmaking, one naturally thinks of the Swiss. Swiss brands carry much of the luxury watchmaking industry, and the tradition of fine Swiss watchmaking dates back to the 16th century.

Prior to the 16th century, Swiss goldsmiths, metalsmiths, and jewelers devoted their efforts to creating beautiful, delicate jewelry to sell. This all changed in 1556 when Geneva embraced Calvinism and forbade the making of jewelry. Watchmaking, however, was not prohibited, and individual manufacturers and craftsmen began to compete with each other to make the best and most functional watches available.

In 1601, Swiss watchmakers banded together to create the Watchmakers’ Guild of Geneva, the first guild of its kind in the world. It was at this point that luxury watchmaking truly began to become associated with the Swiss, a designation that persists even to this day, over three hundred years later.

The Roger Dubuis company prides itself on continuing the tradition first established by the master watchmakers of the Watchmakers' Guild of Geneva. The Roger Dubuis brand uses only the finest materials, including white gold, pink gold, titanium, and diamonds, as well as the most technologically advanced, handcrafted mechanisms such as the double tourbillon, the chronograph, and the minute repeater.

Swiss luxury watchmaking has a long history. Today, Roger Dubuis carries the banner of excellence.

The History of the Poincon De Geneve

The Poincon De Geneve, sometimes called the Hallmark of Geneva, is the official Geneva Seal given to excellence in watchmaking. It was first established in 1886, and only watches with movements built within the city of Geneva are allowed to carry the seal. If a watch receives the Poincon De Geneve certification, it represents the absolute pinnacle of craftsmanship and excellence.

To receive the Poincon De Geneve certification, a watch must meet many exacting specifications. These are often measured in tenths and hundredths of millimeters, a designation which seems nearly invisible to the naked eye but is absolutely essential to the performance of a quality watch. It is this hundredth of a millimeter, after all, that keeps the delicate balance of a watch mechanism running smoothly.

The Roger Dubuis company is the only company to receive 100% Poincon De Geneve certification. This means it is the only company to receive the certification on every watch it produces. This sets a Roger Dubuis watch apart from other Swiss luxury watches, and makes it the best possible choice for the discerning consumer or for the lover of fine watchmaking.

What Sets the Roger Dubuis Brand Apart

In addition to holding 100% Poincon De Geneve certification, the most demanding signature in fine watchmaking, the Roger Dubuis brand also carries a number of elements that set it apart from its competitors. These elements include:

•    The development of four unique watch worlds: the Player, the Venturer, the Warrior, and the Diva
•    The use of only the finest materials, including, in some designs, diamonds that equal up to 13.35 carats
•    Handcrafted components wherever possible, from the handmade Guilloché movement to the hand-stitched genuine alligator straps
•    The ability to combine classic watch styles, such as the Flying Tourbillon in Pink Gold, Tribute to Mr. Roger Dubuis, with contemporary designs, such as the Skeleton Double Flying Tourbillon
•    A commitment to high-end luxury watches for both men and women, in styles that will not only serve the current owners but also become heirlooms passed down for generations to come
•    A dedicated commitment to customer service and satisfaction

It is clear that there is much more to the Roger Dubuis brand than its Poincon De Geneve certification. Whether choosing expensive watches for men or luxury watches for women, the Roger Dubuis brand continuously sets itself apart from its competitors, as it has done ever since Mr. Roger Dubuis founded the company in 1995.

Swiss luxury watches have a long history and can be found at many different manufacturers. However, only one company is 100% Poincon De Geneve certified, and only one brand bears the most demanding signature in fine watchmaking. This brand is Roger Dubuis.
