Watches For Men: Roger Dubuis Releases its 2014 Novelties Collection

Ready to wear one of the best watches in the world?

Watches for men are always competing with each other for style and sophistication, not to mention the latest technological advances, but only one collection carries the unique mark of Mr. Roger Dubuis and his watchmaking excellence: the Roger Dubuis 2014 Novelties Collection.

An homage to high standards

The Roger Dubuis 2014 Novelties Collection carries special importance because it has been created as an homage to Mr. Roger Dubuis, original founder and watchmaker behind the Roger Dubuis company. In 1995, Mr. Dubuis lovingly crafted the Hommage collection of watches for men. Now, nearly 20 years later, the Roger Dubuis company has created a series of watches that pay tribute to Mr. Dubuis' original Hommage design while incorporating the latest technology and material work.

The collection

The 2014 Novelties Collection includes the following watches for men:
 •    Excalibur Quatuor in full titanium black DLC
•    Double Flying Tourbillon with pink gold handmade Guilloché movement
•    Double Flying Tourbillon in pink gold with handmade Guilloché movement
•    Double Flying Tourbillon in white gold with handmade Guilloché movement
•    Double Tourbillon High Jewellry
•    Flying Tourbillon in pink gold, tribute to Mr. Roger Dubuis
•    Chronograph in pink gold
•    Chronograph in white gold
•    Automatic in pink gold
•    Automatic in pink gold set with diamonds
•    Automatic in white gold

Although the 2014 Novelties Collection is primarily a collection of watches for men, it does include one women's watch, the Haute Joaillerie.

The style

A Roger Dubuis watch is known for its style, and the 2014 Novelties Collection exceeds all expectations. The stunning Excalibur Quatuor, for example, integrates technical precision with a thoroughly contemporary look. The watch gears and movement are visible through the watch face, and anyone who observes this watch will notice the mark of Roger Dubuis' superior craftsmanship. The visible RD101 movement system adds a technological edge; the watch's sleek black curves and genuine alligator strap show that the wearer is a man who knows his fashion.

The Flying Tourbillon in pink gold, the 2014 Novelties Collection's "tribute to Mr. Roger Dubuis" watch, is the opposite of the Excalibur Quatuor in style but not in substance. Instead of looking forward, the Flying Tourbillon draws from the past, using alligator leather and gold to create a classic, iconic look that is both representative of the Roger Dubuis brand as well as the high standard of men's watches in general. Wearing the Flying Tourbillon is a display of class and of understated sophistication.

The Chronograph, on the other hand, has a rakishly retro look and adds a bit of hip flair to the traditional watchface. Like all the watches in the 2014 Novelties Collection, this watch contains the full force of Roger Dubuis' technical acumen, including a self-winding RD680 movement system.

Lastly, the Automatic is a straightforward, classic watch for the man who wants to retain a sense of style without calling too much attention to his accessories. Wearing this watch is both automatic in style and in name; it matches any type of clothing, from suits to casual wear, and is perfect for any business or social situation.

The technology

Each of the watches in the 2014 Novelties Collection is the epitome of technological prowess. The Roger Dubuis company has a long history of technological sophistication, and brings its 30 years of expertise to the creation of the watches in the Collection.
The Roger Dubuis company is the only watch manufacturer to receive 100% Poinçon de Genève certification. This honor is also a recognition of the company's superior technology and craftsmanship.

Defying gravity

In watchmaking, the watchmaker must create a watch that keeps the time no matter how often the wearer moves or changes position. Micro differences in gravity as a wearer moves can slowly cause a watch to fall out of time. The Roger Dubuis company has created a number of different technological mechanisms to combat this effect and ensure that its watches are as precise as humanly possible.

The Excalibur Quatuor includes a RD101 movement as well as four precisely sprung balances that compensate for changes in movement and position.

The Flying Tourbillon includes an RD540 movement and a flying tourbillon mechanism that keeps the gravitational pull from pulling the watch out of time.

The Chronograph contains a RD680 self-winding chronograph with a tungsten micro-rotor.

The Automatic features an RD620 movement as well as the famous micro-rotor for which the Roger Dubuis company is known.

The most demanding signature in fine watchmaking

The Roger Dubuis brand is often called "The most demanding signature in fine watchmaking." The 2014 Novelties Collection continues this tradition, pays tribute to the past, and paves the way forward for the next generation of watch design. Choose the technologically forward-thinking Excalibur Quatuor, the iconic Flying Tourbillon, the hip Chronograph, or the classic Automatic -- or invest in more than one watch, and have the perfect timepiece for every occasion.
