Swiss Luxury Watch Manufacturer Roger Dubuis Releases Three Limited-Edition Watches

Roger Dubuis has once again created watchmaking excellence.

Swiss luxury watch manufacturer Roger Dubuis has three new limited edition watches on offer, each a superlative example of Haute Horlogerie and of the craftsmanship that has given the Roger Dubuis company its name and reputation.

These three watches, like every watch in the Roger Dubuis manufacture, come with 100% Poincon De Geneve certification, the most demanding signature in fine watchmaking. The Roger Dubuis company is the only Swiss luxury watch manufacturer to receive Poincon De Geneve certification on every watch in its production.

The Flying Tourbillon in Pink Gold, Tribute to Mr. Roger Dubuis

The Flying Tourbillon in Pink Gold, Tribute to Mr. Roger Dubuis is available as part of the 2014 Novelties Collection in a limited edition of 208 pieces. It is designed as a tribute to Mr. Roger Dubuis, master watchmaker and founder of the Roger Dubuis company.

When Mr. Roger Dubuis was a student at the exclusive Geneva School of Watchmaking, he created his first student watch, which incorporated many elements of classic Swiss luxury watch design. Later, when Mr. Roger Dubuis founded the Roger Dubuis company, he launched the Hommage Collection as a way to pay tribute to his early watchmaking design efforts and to honor how his skills in Haute Horlogerie, or fine watchmaking, had improved in his journey from student watchmaker to master horologist.
Now, the Roger Dubuis company has released the Flying Tourbillon in Pink Gold, Tribute to Mr. Roger Dubuis, as a way to honor the very first Hommage Collection as well as the impact of Mr. Roger Dubuis' life's work. Like Mr. Roger Dubuis' very first student watch, the Flying Tourbillon in Pink Gold features classic Swiss luxury watch design, as well as the cutting-edge technological craftsmanship for which the Roger Dubuis company is known.

The number 208 was chosen because that was Mr. Roger Dubuis' student registration number at the Geneva School of Watchmaking. This limited watch is a one-of-a-kind piece for anyone who values fine watchmaking, classic style, or wishes to own a bit of Roger Dubuis history.

The Excalibur Haute Joaillerie Skeleton Flying Tourbillon Limited Edition

Skeleton watches require a unique form of watchmaking craftsmanship. Because the watch movement is visible to the wearer, a watchmaker must take particular care to ensure that each individual piece is ready for the public eye. A true skeleton watch also requires a minimalist's aesthetic, at least in terms of watch movement: the watchmaker must cut away anything that is not absolutely necessary for the watch, and present a seamless, uncluttered skeleton of parts to keep time in the watch case.

The Excalibur Haute Joaillerie Skeleton Flying Tourbillon is a perfect example of this demanding craft. It combines technical excellence and daring design and blends these elements with Haute Joaillerie mastery. Its sparkling watch case draws the eye to the carefully crafted and positioned skeleton movements within.

There are only 28 of these watches in existence, and viewers must make an appointment at the Roger Dubuis Flagship Boutique at 1881 Heritage in Hong Kong to see the watch. Appointments can be made at

The Excalibur Quatuor in Titanium DLC

The latest offering from the Roger Dubuis company is more than just a watch -- it is literally a timepiece that defies gravity.
When one wears a watch, microchanges in gravity over the course of a day slowly pull the watch movement out of alignment. Even raising or lowering the wrist causes enough gravitational shift to cause the delicate gears and wheels in a watch movement to lose time. Historically, watchmakers used classic movements such as the tourbillon to fight this gravitational effect; a well-crafted tourbillon can re-adjust a watch's time in under a minute.

However, the Roger Dubuis company wanted to take this process one step further and design a watch that adjusted instantly. With that in mind, they created the Excalibur Quatuor, which includes four carefully positioned sprung balances that work in pairs to compensate immediately for the rate variations caused by the changes in position. In other words: this watch defies gravity.

This watch will be released to the world in conjunction with the opening of Roger Dubuis' latest boutique store, located in Hong Kong's luxurious IFC Mall. The Roger Dubuis Boutique Hong Kong, IFC will open in April 2014, and only then will people be able to see the Excalibur Quatuor and admire its craftsmanship.

Like the Excalibur Haute Joaillerie Skeleton Flying Tourbillon, the Excalibur Quatuor is only available via private appointment. Reservations to view this groundbreaking new watch can be made at
