Legacy reborn
Hommage La Placide
In 1996, the Hommage collection was born as a tribute to the watchmaking masters and friends who first inspired Mr. Roger Dubuis’ vision of high horology. Thirty years later, the Maison unveils Hommage La Placide honoring his legacy. Limited to 28 pieces, the new anniversary creation carries forward that original homage – reimagined and remanufactured. Hommage La Placide unites his favorite complication, a Perpetual Calendar with a Biretrograde display honoring his passion for restauration and expressivity. The name “La Placide” is drawn from Mr. Roger Dubuis’ childhood nickname and retained throughout his whole life. A symbol of his calm strength and quiet wisdom that was part of his personality and marked his devotion to watchmaking excellence.

Celebrating
Hommage La Placide is an exceptional creation where each detail reflects a dialogue between heritage and modernity, between the co-founder who started with a dream 30 years ago and the watchmakers who continue to make it existing today.
The modern revival
RD1472
The automatic RD1472 calibre is the beating heart of Hommage La Placide. For the second time since the creation of the Maison, the RD14 calibre and RD72 module are combined. The movement is constructed with a newly made pink gold rotor, 307 components and decorated with more than 15 traditional finishes. Reimagined to meet the actual Poinçon de Genève standards, the calibre reflects the vision Mr. Roger Dubuis’ has since the beginning.
The case back holds the emotive message capturing the Maison’s vision: “This is a watch of today, inspired but not restricted to the past, projected into a future that belongs to us.” A testament from the founders.
Mechanical memory
RD14
Launched in 2004, the RD14 calibre was the very first in-house automatic movement. Reimagined to meet the latest Poinçon de Genève criteria, it blends tradition with technical evolution. The pistol bridges pay homage to Mr. Roger Dubuis’ heritage and pocket watches, while the swan neck allows fine manual adjustment for greater precision. Featuring the original Roger Dubuis balance springs, it is a milestone that marked the Maison’s recognition as an official Manufacture. The RD14 calibre remains a symbol of intricate technicity.
Favourite complication
RD72
Launched in 1999, the RD72 module features Mr. Roger Dubuis favorite complication: the Perpetual Calendar. For this anniversary edition, many original components of the RD72 module were remanufactured according to the 1989 patent co-signed by Mr. Roger Dubuis and the designer Jean-Marc Wiederrecht bringing together day, date, month, leap year and moon phase in the signature biretrograde display.
