Under the sign of the Hawthorn
A legend in bloom
On this creation, a hawthorn blooms in white mother-of-pearl and red sapphires over 147 diamonds, inside a 36 mm pink gold case worked like a ring. The plant is the hawthorn of Brocéliande, the one that hides Viviane. It looks slight and offers cover all the same, and its thorns draw the frontier between the human world and the realm of magic.
The Lady of the Lake, who learned magic from Merlin and placed Excalibur in Arthur's hands, finds a third portrait here, poetic and protective.
A garden set in precious stones
Diamond, sapphires, mother-of-pearl
The flowers unfurl in white mother-of-pearl, each sculpted in three dimensions, each holding a diamond pistil between polished gold stamens. The haws are sapphires cut in pear shapes, the berry red the fruit takes in October. Beneath them, 147 diamonds cover the pink gold center. The two-sided flange, azuré on top and opaline on its slope, and the raised pink gold markers complete the tableau.
Drawn like a jewel
Métiers d'arts
The case was drawn as an ornament and finished like one. Ninety-five diamonds, close to 1.3 carats, follow the fluted bezel, the two inclined lugs and the ring that circles the case body and rises towards the crown, where the emblem of the Maison sits under a transparent lacquer. Four finishes share the pink gold, shot-blasted, satin-brushed in straight and circular strokes, and polished on the edges. Each stone, on the case as on the dial, is chosen by the gemologists of the Manufacture and set by hand.
Automatic caliber
RD830
Developed and assembled at the Manufacture in Geneva, the RD830 drives the hours, minutes and small seconds. Its 183 components carry Côtes de Genève and snailing on the plate, and the open-worked oscillating weight is cut from 22K gold. The ornamental work continues where the dial ends. Power reserve: 48 hours.
