A Seal with history

The Poinçon de Genève was established in 1886 as an official state guarantee with a precise goal : to preserve the region’s watchmaking expertise. Initially applied to specific parts of the movement, the Poinçon de Genève became a symbol of origin and authenticity for timepieces made in Geneva. Today, it remains one of the most prestigious certifications – awarded to timepieces as a whole, based on strict criteria related to watch aesthetics and performance and ensuring heritage, traceability and excellence. The Maison devotes 40% more production time to ensure its timepieces meet the demanding Poinçon de Genève standards reflecting its commitment to origin, exclusivity, performance, durability, and excellent craftsmanship.

Guarantee of origin

This certification ensures that the timepiece’s mechanical movement has been assembled, cased up and adjusted within the Canton of Geneva.

Guarantee of exclusivity

Only four Maisons in Switzerland hold the prestigious Poinçon de Genève certification – Roger Dubuis is one of them.

Guarantee of performance

Once assembled, every watch is individually tested and certified to guarantee flawless precision, water resistance and smooth operation.

Guarantee of durability

Advanced finishing techniques significantly reduce friction and ensure exceptional durability. The materials and craftsmanship give the movement an almost limitless lifespan.

Guarantee of excellent craftmanship

Achieving the Poinçon de Genève is a rigorous undertaking. This translates into extended production times, meticulous attention to detail and dedication to meeting the highest standards at every stage of manufacturing.
