The beating heart of the maison

The co-founders of Roger Dubuis dreamed of creating a space where horological savoir-faire could be preserved, and reinterpreted. The groundwork for that dream was laid in March 2001, when construction on the Manufacture began. Offering magnificent views of the mountains, the building was officially inaugurated in April 2002 and showcased a timeless architecture based on pure lines, luminosity, transparency, and minimalism.

Astonishing craftspeople

At the heart of the integrated Manufacture, the skilled and passionate craftspeople imagine, conceive, decorate, and assemble the Maison’s timepieces.

Selected for their expertise and attitude, they perpetuate the heritage and savoir-faire of Mr. Roger Dubuis himself, with the highest standards of excellence.

Their comprehensive mastery includes an ability to produce their own regulating organs which gives the Maison total independence and ensures uniqueness and authenticity across the movements.

Mr. Roger DUBUIS

“The past is feeding the present and will have an impact on the future because you respect tradition and give it to the next generation.”

Creative minds

On the upper levels of the Manufacture, a fascinating space has been established to stimulate creativity and envision breakthrough innovations. Even the boldest ideas are given room to breathe. This is where the future of Roger Dubuis is imagined.

Whenever the doors are opened, inspiration is unleashed, as a mix of designers, rarity specialists, and creative experts gather together to dream.

Technical pioneers

The Maison’s developers and engineers work hand-in-hand with the designers to conceive the timepieces imagined by the most creatives minds of the Maison.

It can take years to make unprecedented mechanical advancements, invent new calibres, or develop innovative new materials. Since the foundation of the Maison, 25 core calibres have been launched, while more than 25 patents have been obtained.

Patience, dedication and highly advanced knowledge are the strengths of these technical pioneers.

Artists of the calibres

Following the philosophy of the Poinçon de Geneve certification, the finishers and decorators at Roger Dubuis embellish and refine each component by hand. Every piece - visible or not - must be finely adorned, guaranteeing a pristine appearance. Up to 10 processes can be required for just one component.

Roger Dubuis’ emblematic skeleton designs are specifically created to allow the wearers to immerse themselves in that excellent craftsmanship with every glance.

There is no school that teaches watchmaking decoration. It is a savoir-faire that can only be passed down from one generation to another and perfected through years of experience.

Dedicated watchmakers

Keeping the time-honoured skills of horology alive, the watchmakers at Roger Dubuis are dedicated to every detail of their work. Within their atelier, the most intricate calibres are assembled, cased, and set, giving life to the heart of each timepiece and preparing it for the challenges of everyday wear.

Their role is one of patience, passion and maximum accuracy.

Analyzers of excellence

No timepiece leaves the Roger Dubuis Manufacture without first undergoing a series of rigorous tests.

In tribute to the lucky number of Mr. Roger Dubuis, each watch faces 88 of the Maison’s own examinations throughout the production process. This high number ensures a comprehensive study of a timepiece’s performance, and quite unusually, the Maison tests the accuracy both before and after casing.

Amongst the criteria, 12 are closely looked at by the highly demanding Poinçon de Geneve.
