Models from the Maison’s past are rarely available, due to the limited production numbers and the emotional attachment that their owners have to the watches.

The very first creations

Unveiled in 1996, the Sympathie collection was created to express goodwill towards passionate watch enthusiasts. It was also notable for its cushion shape with pointed corners. Mr. Roger Dubuis owned one model himself, featuring his beloved biretrograde display.

Unveiled that same year, the Hommage collection was Mr. Roger Dubuis’ tribute to the talented watchmakers from his past. A way of thanking all the former teachers and friends who had helped him throughout his career.

The first sport watches

By 2004, many friends of the Maison were expressing their desire for a fine timepiece that could keep up with an active lifestyle.

Listening to their wishes, Roger Dubuis launched the AquaMare and SeaMore collections, along with the Sympathie EasyDiver. This was the first tourbillon sports watch on the market. It was also the first Roger Dubuis case in titanium. To emphasize the rarity of mechanical sports watches at the time, it featured the words "sport activity watch" engraved on the dial.

Provocative designs

The expressivity of Roger Dubuis has always been evident. From case shapes and dial designs, through to the names of its collections.

Inspired by the 1920s, the Much More collection was born from the urge to innovate and surprise, and "to give much more" in design.

The Follow Me, recognized by its unexpected cross shape, was in fact a challenge to other watchmakers, urging them to be just as expressive as Roger Dubuis.

The squared collections

Amongst Roger Dubuis’ historical creations, two stand out for their dramatic square shape.

The Golden Square showcased an imposing case that was curved on top and available in three sizes. It was later reimagined with a signature skeleton dial.

The King Square collection became one of its generation’s most recognizable timepieces. Distinguished by its unique architectural lines, it featured three facets on its sapphire glass. Resolutely urban yet also sophisticated.

Inspired by risk-takers

Steeped in the world of casinos and chance, the Monegasque collection from 2011 was inspired by those who take risks. It was designed with a captivating roulette aesthetic and remains the one and only traditional cushion case made by Roger Dubuis.

Mr. Roger DUBUIS

“The artistic side and the mechanical function of a watch are two disciplines that must both be of the highest quality. In both cases, you can be creative, whether emotionally or in the application of watchmaking know-how”

Inspired by motorsport

Roger Dubuis entered the world of adrenaline in 2012 with the Pulsion collection. This was followed by the sporty Excalibur Spider, which expressed a passion for motorsport. As of 2017, it became the perfect playground for the partnerships with Lamborghini Squadra Corse and Pirelli. From using specialist tyre rubber in the creation of straps, to featuring materials, colours, and shapes inspired by supercars, these two collaborations have unleashed a torrent of creativity.

One for the divas

Launched in 2012, the Velvet was inspired by the world of the diva. It was the Maison’s first collection for women and revealed a distinctive case shape, set with precious stones.

On the dial, the Roman numerals elegantly converged towards the center, creating a sophisticated, refined, and attractive aesthetic with an evident attention to detail.

The iconic Excalibur

Legend says that a customer once gave Carlos Dias a real middle-ages sword, suggesting that he and Mr. Roger Dubuis were the fearless knights of watchmaking.

This moment inspired the creation of the Excalibur collection in 2005 – known for its round case, fluted bezel, and triple lugs with refined crown guard.

The collection introduced the Maison’s skeleton style and signature star and has since become a canvas of creativity for Friends of the Maison such as Dr. Woo, Sorayama, and others.

Legendary creations

The Knights of the Round Table has become one of Roger Dubuis’ most iconic, bold and breathtaking quests. Started in 2013, each edition is a celebration of Métiers d'Art, portraying the tales of the Arthurian legend.

The micro-sculpted knights are hand-finished with meticulous care, while the tables are made with gems, precious materials, or specific techniques.

The same journey has also inspired other creative designs, such as the Excalibur Broceliande, evoking the mythical namesake forest.

The future awaits

Since its foundation, Roger Dubuis has been reinterpreting the most famed complications with unexpected expressivity. Its uncompromising commitment to excellence has earned most timepieces the prestigious Poinçon de Genève hallmark – an exceptional achievement in the watchmaking world. These rare and sometimes bespoke watches are just the beginning of the story. There are many more dreams to create as the Maison continues ahead.
