More specifications on the technical details

On a retrograde display, the hand moves along a semi-circle scale and returns to zero at the end of each cycle. Mr. Roger Dubuis co-patented his own retrograde mechanism in 1989, which became the basis for the Maison’s first ever watch.

This year, the Maison pays tribute to its co-founder’s favourite biretrograde display, also named “the ecliptic counters” by the Maison - as a reference to their elliptical shape and their particular function indicating months and date.

Continuing the dream

With their vision for expressivity, the co-founders at Roger Dubuis launched their very first timepiece with a distinctive biretrograde display. 30 years later, the Maison has revived that signature style in a refined day-date calendar timepiece of modern aesthetics and certified excellence.

Heritage Aesthetics

Roger Dubuis was the first watchmaker to use 18K pink gold and mother-of-pearl together. For this refined 40mm timepiece, the materials are used along with other tributes to the Maison’s heritage, including the symmetrical layout, the skeletonized hands, the historic font, and the shape of the scales, which are wide on the outside and narrow towards the centre.

A Future That Belongs to Us

Crafted in-house, the automatic Calibre RD840 features a day-date calendar complication and has been decorated and hand-polished to achieve the esteemed Poinçon de Genève certification. The oscillating weight is a modernized take on the version from 1996, and appears next to a meaningful quote, attributed to the two Roger Dubuis co-founders.
